Exchange / Return Policies

In mycology, contamination is a huge problem and can be introduced at many different points along the growing process.  For this reason, we can only accept exchange / refunds as long as specific guidelines are followed.  At Granite Valley Mushroom Company we take every precaution to help ensure you do not receive a contaminated product.  That being said, if our product is found to have contamination, we will 100% stand behind it and offer you an exchange or a refund.  If you've purchased a liquid culture, please ensure that you follow the liquid culture directions of our "How To's" section.  If this procedure is not followed, then there is no way to tell if the contamination came from our liquid culture or if it came from an incomplete sterilization process and a refund will not be provided.  Please provide pictures of the suspected contamination.  After determining that the contamination was caused by our product we will offer you an exchange for new product and ship it to you ASAP, at our expense.  If you would like a refund, we will email you a return shipping label so that you can return the product.  When the product is received, you will get a refund.  


If you receive a bag of spawn, grain or sawdust, and it has contamination in it, do not open the bag.  Take pictures of it and send it to us.  We will offer an exchange at our expense or a refund.  Like above, if you choose a refund we will provide a return shipping label so you can mail the product back.  When it is received, in it it's unopened bag, we will issue a refund.  If you open the bag, you void this warranty.


We will not accept returns on live mycology products such as liquid cultures, grain spawn, etc. for reasons such as "we don't need it anymore" or "we ordered the wrong product" or "we don't have time to use it", etc.... These are live products, made to order at your request.  If you order the wrong product, please let us know ASAP so we can get it straightened out for you.  If a return is authorized for any reason outside of our control shipping will be at the customers expense.
